A fire alarm system is number of devices working together to detect and warn people through visual and audio appliances whensmoke, fire, carbon monoxide or other emergencies are present. These alarms may be activated automatically from smoke detectors, and heat detectors or may also be activated via manual fire alarm activation devices such as manual call points or pull stations. Alarms can be either motorized bells or wall mountable sounders or horns. They can also be speaker strobes which sound an alarm, followed by a voice evacuation message which warns people inside the building not to use the elevators. These days fire alarm systems are divided in two general types:
1. Conventional Fire Alarm System: For residences, shops and small offices.
2. Addressable Fire Alarm System: For large buildings, malls, commercial complexes, etc.
conventional fire alarm system
Alarm activates when there is fire or smoke in any sector, without the ability to pinpoint which alarm is active.
Addressable fire Alarm System
• Pinpoints fire location
• Contacts fire department quickly
• Features drift compensation to prevent false alarm
Designing & Consultation
we undertake designing, consultation and auditing jobs for Fire Alarm System and its integration with other systems which acts as life saving systems in case of fire emergency. We also provide consultation on causes of fire in an building/premises by calculating current loads at all points as well as re-engineering power & load ratios to determine any additional stress on electrical infrastructures.
to know in detail and discuss on any issues concerning to fire safety with in sight, measuring your electrical safety, we would be glad to advice you and take the job forward.
components in a fire alarm system
Smoke/ Heat detector
Available for conventional and addressable system
Smoke Detector detects smoke (Carbon dioxide) presence in the air and raises an alarm.
Heat Detector detects heat rise and informs the panel accordingly
Hooter with strobe
Available for conventional and addressable system
Communicates with public at large that there is incidence of fire by raising an alarm and flashing the strobe light
Manual Call Point
Available for conventional and addressable system
A manual call point is a device which enables personnel to raise an alarm in the event of a fire incident by pressing a frangible element to activate the alarm system.
Fire panel
Available for conventional and addressable system
A fire alarm control panel (FACP), fire alarm control unit (FACU), or simply fire alarm panel is the controlling component of a fire alarm system.
